Giving
We encouraging generosity in giving to the Lord. 2 Cor. 9:6 states: “…He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”
Giving is understood as giving money through tithes and offerings. A tithe is considered to be one-tenth of one’s income. Tithing was considered a practice even before the Law of Moses. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:20). Later, according to the Mosaic Law, the tithe belongs to the Lord. Malachi 3:8-10 states: “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, Wherein have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now therewith, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” An offering is a donation beyond the amount of the tithe. Tithes (if NBCF is your home church) and offerings can be sent to the church address.
